Great Game!!
Age: 23 Gender: Female Occupation: Teacher/Grad Student
We got a Wii for Christmas, and I've always been a huge Mario fan, especially the original Mario games. This game brings in a lot of the old Mario, but it has a fun twist with the whole flipping into 3-D thing. There were a few parts that I've found frustrating, but were actually really easy once I figured it out. The graphics are really fun, and so are the characters.

I'm not a big video gamer, and I don't have a lot of time to spend playing, so this game is great for me. It's fun, and there are lots of opportunities to save so you can quit and come back later.

Not what i expected.
This is one time it would have paid to do some research. I bought this game unaware of the previous RPG nature of the Paper Mario series. This game actually shares quite a bit in common with Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the DS: a central village, shops, some controls and stylistic elements, which i find a bit odd.

It's strange to play a Mario game with experience points, hit points (heart points) and so forth. It certainly isn't anything like two of my favourites: Super Mario World (SNES) and New Super Mario Brothers (DS). This is not an action game, it's a series of puzzles and dialogue. If you like puzzles, you'll love this game; if you want action, this one isn't for you.

Fabulous Mix
The game starts out with a pretty classic feel -- d-pad navigation and the 1 and 2 buttons filling the space of a and b buttons on an original nes controller. After a little time getting use to the game a few more controls are added, making game play incredibly rich.

I thought I would miss the rpg-style battles I fell in love with in Super Mario RPG, but found the combination of attack points and enemy stomping to be a great mix, especially once the concept of 'smooth moves' was introduced, making leveling up far easier.

There is an awful lot of reading. Some of it really necessary and some of it just makes the story better. My husband and daughter skipped over most of the reading by hitting the a button as fast as they could without really effecting their game play (if they thought they missed something they could just talk to a person again).

This includes some really puzzling puzzles, a fun story, great characters (both new and old), and a variety of controls. Just a fabulous combination!

Fun game
It allows you to keep increasing your "record" but some of the games are wierd. Good addition to the Wii collection.

Did not enjoy this game.
I purchased this game based on the reviews and the videos. It appeared to be fun. I found this game to be very boring and difficult to use, especially with a child that has Cerebral Palsy and limited movement in one arm and hand. Most of the games allow for use of only the Wii remote, this game requires use of both the Wii remote and the nunchuck.

This type of movement is hard enough for healthy individuals, but it is darn near impossible for people with physical limitations. I found the game instructions unclear and confusing and the challenges were not fun. Overall, I found this game a waste of money.

Tennis Elbow
I liked this game so much I gave myself tennis elbow. Beware of quick sudden repetitive hand and arm movements or you will end up like me. If you are over 40, take it easy. Have fun and ice after playing.

Constantly Crashes Our Wii
We bought this game with several others at Christmastime along with a brand new Wii console (so everything is new, nothing is old, everything should work, right?). Our son loves this game, but it randomly freezes our Wii system. There is a buzzing noise that travels through the TV speakers, and sometimes the game screen freezes or it just goes black. The only way to un-freeze the Wii is to unplug it (even the power button on the Wi won't work).

Apparently, from looking at other reviews, this is a problem with this game. Since it was the most expensive one we bought, it's extra-frustrating that it's the only one that we have had a problem with.

If the game did not freeze (and it does, with absolutely no rhyme or reason-we can play it for days with no problems, and then, suddenly, it's crashing 3-4 times in a day), we would give this a 5+ stars rating.

NHL 2K9 Wii
Great game for the game play but terrible to view any words on the screen. Very hard to read and so it makes it difficult to navigate screens sometimes. The games sometimes pauses and acts like it is going to lock up. Great game but could stand for some improvements.

NHL 2K9
Excellent game. Many options to choose from and lots of fun! A must for sports fans!

Great Coach!
I haven't played this game personally. I bought it for my 13-year-old son who is in 1st year Spanish. He says it is helpful, and likes it. Unexpectedly, my younger son, who is 11, has also started using this and seems to like it even more! I'm glad I bought it. I'd rather see them with educationsl games for their DS'S!

This is Awesome.
I am so glad that I purchased My Spanish Coach. Ive been wanting to learn Spanish for such a long time and did not want to buy one of those crazy expensive programs. I just want to know the basics.

This game is very easy to use. And they make sure you know the words before you can even advance to the next lesson, so it can get a tad repetitive.

excellent learning tool
the game is fun and you repeat the words back to the device even to correct yourself to pronounce the words right. its base off of memory, which is better for the long run. there are little cross words, hit-the-word, and even a quick multiple choice. the game is profoundly excellent for any age.

* Gears of War 2 - Theme - 'Bare Your Teeth'
* Gears of War 2 - Gamer Pics - 'Crimson Omen'

Gears of War, an Xbox 360 exclusive game that blends tactical action with survival horror, thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing tale of humankind's epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet.

The storyline plays out like a Hollywood blockbuster -- lead character Marcus Fenix pits advanced human technology against the overwhelming Locust Horde. Built around a revolutionary third-person tactical combat system and breathtaking, high-definition visuals from the Unreal Engine 3, Gears of War immerses you in a horrifying tale of war and survival.

The gameplay is focused on a fire team co-op so advanced that your A.I. teammates are indiscernible from human players. Voice recognition and real-time lip synching heighten the absorbing experience. The Unreal Engine 3 technology brings out the smallest details in the largest of battles.

With GOW you're sure to experience a rich, dynamic world where characters spring to life. Speaking of life, the battlefield is a lethal place. To survive, you must suppress your enemy with blindfire, take cover in interactive environments, and use weapons and teammates to outwit your dreaded, inhuman foes.

And with a title like GOW, it would be shame if you couldn't get online and challenge live gamers. With the next-generation of Xbox Live, you'll be able to experience individualized matchmaking, view player statistics, earn player achievements, customize games, and build personalized gamer profiles.

Gears of War shined bright at Microsoft's pre-E3 press briefing, but a deeper demo at Microsoft's E3 booth revealed many of the game's mechanics. GOW is built with both the hardcore and casual gamer in mind. But, instead of selecting a difficulty level at the start of the game, GOW offers a choice at the beginning of each level.

In the vein of choose your own adventure, you can select between a difficult or easy path. And it's not just a simple choice of battling tougher enemies; each path (explained by a comrade) represents additional content that is crucial to the storyline.

After easing your way into the experience of the gameplay with the simpler paths, you can go back and test your skills on the more difficult routes and never feel like you've played through the areas before.

Standing around in the open is likely to get you killed in GOW. You must use cover to survive. With a context sensitive A button function, you won't have to sweat memorizing cumbersome button combos. The A button will:

* Slam you into cover. As you approach cover in GOW simply tap the A button to slide and make immediate use of cover.
* Vault you over the cover. Once you're in cover, pressing up and A will vault you over your cover to engage the opponent or next cover opportunity.
* Evade enemy fire. When you're forced to be out in the open, tapping the A button will engage a roll maneuver to evade enemy fire.
* Activate a "Swat Turn." When taking cover on the side of a doorway, pressing the A button will spin your character from one side of the doorway to the other, helping avoid fire.

Ripping a magazine free and replacing it in the midst of bloody combat is no easy task. GOW simulates this difficult action by forcing you to perfect your reloading skills. To be effective in combat you'll need to allot for time to successfully reload your weapon.

Do it well and the battle is yours; do it poorly and you may actually jam your gun. Time it perfectly and you'll earn a bonus with a temporary damage boost. Though GOW clearly showcases a sci-fi experience, its roots are in tactical, realistic combat scenarios.

Therefore, running and gunning makes for seriously erratic shooting. Think about what you're doing. Unless wasting ammo is your goal, you better stop, aim, shoot, and then move on. Otherwise, the Locust Horde might swarm you and take your life.

Gears of War presents a focused and well-paced cinematic experience, and nothing ruins that faster than a time-consuming exploration of every switch or button to find the elusive trigger to open a door. This game introduces a "point of interest" button that comes up on the screen so you can immediately interact with the necessary item to move forward in your gameplay.

GOW certainly offers drool-worthy graphics, but the mechanics have also received equal attention. Keep your eyes and ears on high alert for a release date, as Microsoft hasn't let the cat out of the bag on when gamers will be able to tackle this great-looking and great-playing title.

Most Under rated games i have played this gen
First i will address the comparisons with GoW. HS combat style is different than GoW with some similarities. That being said, this game is jaw dropping gorgeous. Literally, it takes your breath away with the beautiful environments.

Critics were unfairly harsh on their reviews, and they pointed out a lot the fact that the game is not long enough by their standards. How long do you want your game to be is a matter of opinion.

The production values found in this game are second to none, the cinematic, dialogue and story are top notch. The game play is action packed, and you feel like you are living the story, is really immerse. This game is a jewel that no PS3 owner should miss.
On the down side you may find the game has average replay value. But is a really great experience

Simpy Awesome!
Ok it was short... BUT WICKEDLY ENJOYABLE! Prolly one of the best games I've played in 25 years of game playing (Including many of the Zelda games)... Sometimes I would just stop to enjoy the beautiful architecture. If this is the future of gaming.. BRING IT ON! Looking forward to Heavenly Sword II!

Enjoy!

Sure it's short but it's still must play for action fans
The gameplay is a good God of War clone. The game is short but what makes this game so special is its production. The acting performances and music are very memorable. All the characters especially Bohan(Andy Serkis) and Flying Fox are a joy to see onscreen. There is a nice assortment of extras to help lessen the sting of the short playing time.

Can't Put it Down....Great game!
My granddaughter (age 8) requested this game for her Nintendo DS as a birthday gift. She absolutely loves it and plays this game all the time! It is everything she expected it to be.

Holy Hand Cramp!
Pros: A great song selection, pretty good gameplay (on lower difficulty levels at least), fun on battle mode.

Cons: Hand cramps and neck cramps especially on Hard and Expert, other technical issues, more songs and store items would be nice.

Just like the first "Guitar Hero: On Tour", this one has a good song list with much lighter songs (appropriate to the DS) than the original Guitar Hero games. Activision didn't skimp on this game and each decade has songs from some really well known bands. Organizing the songs into different decades is also far more satisfying than a random organization.

The gameplay is similar enough to the original Guitar Hero to work fairly well, especially on Easy or Medium difficulty. The guitar pick stylus to strum with mimics the feeling of playing guitar closely enough for the game to have that "make believe" appeal.

This game also features a battle mode that works even better than the battle mode in Guitar Hero III. The features of the DS are really utilized in battle mode, and you'll find yourself signing leg warmers that pop up on screen and blowing frantically when your equipment catches on fire.

On easy or medium, I'd easily give this game at least four stars, but on the upper difficulty level, problems start to mount. Trying to play some of the songs on hard or expert can cause severe hand cramps for BOTH hands. Switching positions can alleviate this somewhat, but not enough. Neck cramps also occur.

When playing a fast section, there is often the tendency to not strum in exactly the right place, screwing up you note streak. Sometimes, the guitar attachment will pop out of the DS forcing you to restart the entire system. All of these were problems in the original "Guitar Hero: On Tour" and I don't see that too much has been done to fix them here.

Maybe it is a fruitless wish as the DS is only capable of so much, but it would also be nice to be able to buy more items and songs at the store like on the games for larger systems. Not much is available here.

This game has a good song list, good concept and good gameplay on lower difficulty levels, but I cannot bring myself to love a game that is actually physically painful to play. Too many technical issues. 3+ stars.

Great game, poor posture!
I really enjoyed "jamming" to these tracks! However, looking down at the screen for long periods made my neck hurt. I think I would enjoy a non-DS version better, to really get into the spirit of the band. It's so hard to "rock out" when you're staring at your hands the entire time.
