You'd think years of defeat would get to a guy, but Bowser just doesn't give up! He's captured Mario and his friends in his pursuit of a crystal that the group collected when it fell from the sky, and he doesn't hesitate to shrink them to miniature size to get rid of them and get his hands on the other four crystals.

The mini-heroes have to find the crystals before he does, making their way through giant environments filled with enormous creatures. The single-player campaign takes place in five different settings, each of them ending with a boss. As usual, players have to collect coins and stars, at the same time escaping dangers such as Piranha Plants and other classic creatures from the Mario universe.

As they progress through the game, players also can unlock various mini-games, such as Rail Riders, Sweet Sleuth and Goomba Wrangler! When players are tired of exploring the story mode, they can choose one of the other modes, like Puzzle and Minigame. Play with up to four friends on the DS' local Wi-Fi and let the party begin! Mario Party comes to the DS. Mario and his friends are shrunk down for the game and this causes once harmless locations to take on a bigger challenge. Play in five different game boards, such as Wiggler's Garden and Toadette's Music Room.

The ultimate goal is to stop Bowser and his latest plan. He seeks five crystals and shrinks down the characters so they can't stop him. Each of the players wants to be the one and only that brings down Bowser.

So fun!
I bought this game for my 6 and 8 year olds but I play it all the time too! There is alot of stuff to do, 5 different exciting game boards to play on, and lots of stuff to unlock. There are so many extras, you never get bored as there is always something new to do.

Plus, it's very challenging but not too hard for the kids to beat. And if you have more than one DS like we do the multiplayer feature is awesome. This game definitely has something for everybody. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great fun for kids
I bought this game for my daughter (9 years old), and it is by far her favorite Mario Brothers game. She lost it a while ago, and rather than get a new game, she insisted on replacing it. I'd say this is her top Nintendo DS game overall.

Great, especially if you have more than one kid with a DS
Nintendo games are probably the best games for the DS. The main reason is that they almost always let you play multiplayer (using more than one DS) with only one copy of the game. That is ceratinly one of the highlights of Mario Party. My kids love it, and we only need one copy for use with both DSes.
