Customer Reviews
Better game than I expected and full of pleasant surprises...

I bought this for my 4 yr. old niece for Christmas. She loves all the Disney princesses, so it was a no-brainer for me, and the price was right. My sister raved about the game, but she doesn't play video games like I do, so I didn't take her feedback seriously. Honestly, I thought the game would be more along the basically 2-D format of Diego Wii I had purchased for my 4 yr. old son. Boy, was I wrong!
I was at my sister's the other day and watched my niece (accompanied by my 9 yr. old daughter) play the game, and I have to say I was impressed. First, the game kept my daughter's interest (she's into games like The Curious Village of Dr. Layton). Second, the 3-D graphic is gorgeous, certainly not expected of a game geared only towards little girls.
Third, it actually has a good story and flow. Fourth, some parts are challenging and a helper is necessary for those parts. I think that's great, because, I tend to think that if a game is too easy, it's not worth the money.
True, the game can get repetitive, but, in the end, I don't think a girl (or a princess at heart) ever gets tired of twirling a magic wan. If you haven't already bought this game for your little princess, I suggest you do so. Valentine's day is just around the corner.
Age appropriate?

My four year old Granddaughter has not been able to play the game herself. The controls are spread across both the remote and nun-chuck. She is not able to yet get the relationship of joystick movement connection to movement of her avatar.
She can wave the wand but doesn't connect the three different motions to the avatar actions. This is all compounded by the fact that the Nintendo Wii remote and nun-chuck are too large for her hands.
So why the high fun rating? My Granddaughter loves the Disney Princesses; she is into the three Ps: pink, ponies and princesses. When she comes over she asks to play the game. We went through the whole game when we first got it.
Now with the second time, a couple months later, she asks for her favorite princesses first, and can tell you about the final scenes when the game is completed. Grandpa plays the game and involves her with the simpler controls.
She is transfixed by the game to the exclusion of all else; including simple control explanations. I would guess there will be a short period where she will be able to play the game and still find it interesting; maybe a year from now when she is five.
In case you were wondering, she is tall and bright, and carries on a good conversation.
Does anyone know of Wii controls that are meant for small hands?
my 4-yr old loves this game

My my 4-yr old daughter loves this game. She figured out quickly how to navigate with both the Wii remote and nunchuck controller at the same time. Some of the tasks are still a little bit too difficult but overall they are definitely achievable. A fun game for all little princesses out there.
