The Dualshock 3 wireless controller for the PlayStation 3 system provides the most intuitive game play experience with pressure sensors in each action button and the inclusion of the highly sensitive SIXAXIS™ motion sensing technology. Each hit, crash and explosion is more realistic when the user feels the rumble right in the palm of their hand.
It can even detect natural movements for real-time and high precision interactive play, acting as a natural extension of the users body. Dualshock 3 wireless controller utilizes Bluetooth technology for wireless game play and the controllers USB cable to seamlessly and automatically charge the controller through the PlayStation 3 system at anytime.

Form vs. Function

I have had this controller for about 4 months now and i still can't figure out a way to hold the controller without suffering from immense hand pain. It's obvious that the controller wasn't even designed with American gamers in mind. Sony, take a look at what your other competitors are doing with their controllers.
The wii controller is quite innovative and comfortable and the xbox 360's controller is quite accurate and also very comfortable to hold for hours. Sony continues to only cater to the Japanese/Asian market and it shows in this grotesque 15 year old design. The same damn controller for your last 3 consoles is a disgrace. Yes, the controller looks good, has rumble, and is wireless, but that's all it has going for it these days.
My advice to Sony would be to just make a slightly bulkier controller (think the Logitech ps2) and fix the damn L2/R2 "triggers" so they aren't so slippery. I still gave the controller four stars because it does what it advertises, but Sony should stop marketing their products towards only the Japanese markets and design a controller that is comfortable for all gamers of all ages.
A Nice Upgrade from the Standard Controllers

I'd expected the DualShock 3 to either have problems with SixAxis tilt functionality, or be a lot heavier, simply because they had to cram more technology into the same piece of plastic.
Instead, it turns out that everything works great: the vibration comes through on any game I've played, PS2 or PS3, and yet the battery life still seems to be about the same as for a non-DualShock 3 wireless controller. The controller is very lightweight, and the "rumble" effects are not jarring. It also uses the same USB cable to charge with that the standard PS3 controllers use.
Last but not least, SixAxis functionality works just fine--I tested it out on games like Heavenly Sword, where you spend long periods trying to hone the angle of an arrow or the tilt of a cannonball. At this point if you're buying a controller, it doesn't make any sense *not* to go ahead and get the DualShock 3.
DualShock 3 not as good as Xbox360 controllers

The DS3 controller is nice, but it doesn't handle like a 360 controller. If you have not yet gotten to hold and play with a xbox360. Otherwise this is the best controller you can get for the PS3.
